Brotherhood through equality, not hazing..
In 1972, Lambda Chi Alpha was the first world-wide fraternity to officially end its pledge program; it was replaced with the revolutionary idea of an association period. An associate member of Lambda Chi is given all the rights and privileges of an initiated member of the fraternity including voting, attending all meetings, and even holding an office within the fraternity. The only exception to this is that an associate member cannot run for or hold the office of High Phi, the fraternity ritualist.
Instead of expecting obedience and participation through hazing, we nurture brotherhood through learning and friendship. Allowing instead for brotherhood to grow instead of being forced, and allowing our brother's passion for the fraternity to lead them to excellence both within the fraternity and in their personal lives
Personal development through leadership..
Lambda Chi Alpha is a fraternity where men can strive and better themselves on a daily basis through learning and leadership. We encourage brothers to push each other to new levels in everything from academics to their social lives.
Achieving an unsurpassed level of community involvement..
We at Lambda Chi Alpha pride ourselves for our community involvement through fraternity philanthropies, campus philanthropies, and other community events. We work year round for our local philanthropy, the March of Dimes, and our national philanthropy, The North American Canned Food Drive, as well as volunteering at local soup kitchens and retirement homes as well as participate in campus events such as 'The Big Event,' an all-greek community cleanup, and 'Up All Night.'
Although participation in all the philanthropies our fraternity is involved with is voluntary for each individual most of our brothers enjoy involving themselves in them.
